REFORMATIVE DETENTION. PALMERSTON N., July 18. A senteneb of reformative detention for periods not exceeding 18 months and 6 months respectively was imposed by Magistrate Stout this morning on Frederick Huddleston, alias Bernard Lowbachewsky, the alleged famous drugless healer, and John Berenston, who on Monday were found guilty of having obtained money by false pretences. The Magistrate said Huddleston was the ring-leader and to a certain extent duped Berenston, who, however, on learning of the fraudulent nature of the business had not withdrawn. It was possible had Huddleston continued in business, that many deaths would have been at his hands, as he had no qualifications or training, and people who badly needed medical attention might have refrained from getting it.
