CONTESTED 1 BY MAHONEY

SYDNEY, July 17

Mr Mahoney adds that the money with which he purchased his hotel was the result of this win. He declares that Mr Scull in, tlie Leader of the Federal Labour Party, deliberately suppressed the evidence? that he (Mahoney) won it at the Flemington racecourse until after the Royal Commission had closed. Mr Mahoney states that this was done by Mr Scullin because he (Mahoney) lias always opposed Mr Scullin, and when he (Mahoney) learned that tlie evidence was available he was advised by his counsel that it was too lato as the Commission had closed.
