Westland Sub-Union lias “sold the durqniy’’ to the public once more, and the good ojd paying sports, the people who enhance the coffers of the Westland Rugby Sub-Union are left on t||e trifle line to liartg ]ike last yearts oajc lgqves in tit® park, lintjl the local governing body sees fit to put on another mud scramble in six weeks’ time. What is up with us, anyway ? We supply eleyon players of that noble fifteen that defeated Bwller in the Coast v. Buller match at Greymoutb, and the Grey Union reap the benefit to the tune of nearly £IOO. Then when the God of the weather makes ns bring out last year’s iimbpeHa, and the match Grey v. Hokitika was postponed until 14th. (Saturday) next, the Grey Union puts out its financial paws for another benefit, and the local Sub-Union condones the offence. Wp postpone our Club fixtures, supply of our best players, give them the gatetakings and bow our heads to Almighty Grey mouth. As my Chinese friend would say—“Wha’-for—no savvy.” DROP-KICK.
