PAHIATUA AMATEUR TOURNEY.

■ PAHIATUA, July' 11. After mny years, the boxing revival was very successful for the amateur tournament last night at the theatre. There was a very large attendance and some brisk bouts, the principal lieing: Middleweight—McDonald (To Kuiti) v. T Halpin (Woodville) three round bout, verdict a draw. Hepburn (leild-j ing) and It. Holden (R.uawlinta)—' The referee intervened in the third round to save Holden from superior opponent. Hepburn received a medal for the most .sftentific display. Light heavyweight, six two-minute rounds— Johnnie Beech (Pahiatua) and 4k Sid Hogan (Dannevirke), decision to I Beech; a splendid contest. Featherweight—A. Candy (Palmer- ‘ ston North) and D. Price (Feilding), four two-minute rounds.— I The referee was unable to divide them at the finish.
