From Tex Rickard’s press agents to-night came the story that Gene Tun- ; nev is retiring after his coining fight with Tom- Heeney for the world’s boxing championship. “He’s worth 2,000,000 dollars and lie’s going to be married. He’s just about through until fighting.” That is the substance of the yarn, and even although it is meant to assist the bally-hoo for the coming event, it still may be true. Tunney is different from other fighters. He doesn’t like being mauled. Golf is really his game, and with money enough, he may quit the ring and go in for quiet study v and the 'life of a business man.
