The Waitaha Dairy Factory was successful in carrying off the first
prize for the cheese exhibit medal for obtaining the highest number ol points in the South Island.
The Medical Association held a meeting at Matainui on Sunday discussing the necessity of appointing a doctor for South Westland. No definite aiTangements were made, hut a. joint meeting is to take place at Harihari on Wednesday next, July 11, when a definite decision will be arrived at.
FOOTBALL. Owing to heavy rain on Saturday the Arahura-Ross match had to he postponed till next- Saturday. The Harihari Young Bucks defeated the Old Boys by 13 to nil. Ruatapu defeated Waitaha by 3 to nil. Heavy rain prevented the Bucks and Colts from holding their weekend match at Matainui. Visitors to the Franz Josef Glacier this week numbered 92.
