AIELBOURNE GRAND NATIONAL. (Australian Press Association.) AIELBOURNE, July 7. The Grand National Hurdles resulted:—Longlands 0.0 (Kncvitt) 1. A r a!beo 9.11 (Alclves) 2, Johnny Cake 10.1 (AlcAlahon) 3. Seventeen started. Royan led in the early stages, but at the end of the first round Giff piloted the field, followed by Johnny Cake and Royan. Johnny Cake later took the lead, but Longlands came up an/1 forged steadily ahead. He was not pushed at the end. winning by, four lengths, with Johnny Cake five further back and Woolpack fourth.
