ANGRY WITH SPAIN,
PERPIGNAN, France, May 14
There is renewed tension between France and Spain over the affairs of the tiny Pyrenean Republic of Andorra. Last autumn the plotting of Catalonian home-rulers, who had exiled themselves to France prominent among them being the late Sefior Blasco Ibanez, the writer—nearly involved Andorra in a foreign war, and the Andorrans mobilised their entire army of 600 officers and men and prepared to I hold the mountain passes against all comers.
The Andorrans now complain that tlie Spaniards are trying to monopolise tlie joint Fra neo-Spanish postal administration of their territory. They have asked the help of the French to prevent the Spaniard’s getting complete control of the country’s one and only post office, and they declare that they will boycott the Spanish post office, and run the postal service themselves, issuing a special set of Andorran stamps. - ‘ - As so few people write letters in An dor'ra, obliterated Andorran stamps are expected to be so rare as to command a higli price nindfig itftinfJ collectors. ..
