Counsels’' addresses before the Royal Commission inquiring into Lambert’s charges have concluded, and the Commissioner will now prepare his report to tho Governor-General. MOXLEY MURDER. INQUEST PROCEEDINGS. Australian Press Assn.—United Service (Received this day at 9.30 a.m). SYDNEY, June 29. A dramatic turn occurred iii the liloxley shooting (cabled on the 16th), at the inquest before a Newcastle Coroner, when Jackson’s two statements Were tendered. In the first Jackson declared Dent, the other accused, had urged and commanded him (Jackson) to murder Moxley. In tlio second statement, Jackson exculpated Dent, and declared Mrs Moxley had offered him (Jackson) £SO to “Do away with Dick.” Jackson added that he did not like to do this, and she then threatened to put the police on him for running away from his employment. Finally, after a lot of persuasion, lie agreed, and shot and killed Moxley on June 15th, while the latter was attending to the wireless in his own home at Willinmtown.
The Coroner warned Mrs Moxley to See that she was not bound to answer questions likely to incriminate her. Slie admitted she liad corresponded with Dent since lie left her husband’s employment in March last. • If her husband saw the letters he would then destroy them.
The inquest was adjourned. SYDNEY, Juno 29. (■•. Detective. Ryan submitted two. statements by West, who declared he knew ‘Nothing about the murder till ho read of it in the newspapers. In tho second one. Dent stated Mosey was always jealous of his wife’s attentions to West. On one occasion Dent overhead overheard a quarrel in which Mosey theatened to. shoot Dent. Detective Ryan added that Jackson stated Dent one© wanted Jackson to
_ Moxey fishing and then push him a cliff. Jackson declined. Dent remarked that he would get a crook from Sydney to do the job. Mrs Moxey, in evidence, sajd she was friendly with Dent who kissed her when dissolving partnership with her husband. She was occasionally alone with Dent while her husband was at the beach. She denied complicity in the murder of her husband.
LIBEL VERDICT SUSTAINED. MELBOURNE, June 29. The Full Court sustained judgment wherein Job McGregor, a horse trainer, obtained £IOOO damages for libel against . the? “Herald and Weekly Times’’ in respect to an article by a sporting contributor.
