“THE LONE WOLF RETURNS.”

TO-NIGHT.

One of flip fastest adventure melodramas of the season “The Lone Wolf Returns,” a Master Picture, is showing at the Princess Theatre to-night. The story which is an adaptation by Columbia Pictures of the famous Louis Joseph Vance novel, treats of the reformation of Lho master crook. Michael Lanyard, through an accidental meeting with Marcia Mayfair, a New York society girl, while he loiters behind portieres in her boudoir in an effort t-c evade the authorities. It will be remembered that Bert Lytell created the character of the “Lone Wolf” for the screen several years ago, a circumstance that resulted in an esocially fine interpretation of the role in the current production. No truer portrayal of ‘his difficult character could possibly be given than that outlined by Mr'Lytell in “The Lone Wolf Returns.” The element of mystery, the spirit of adventure, the romantic and,, in fact, picturesque qualities of the story are grippingly projected in Columbia’s master production of a great author's work. Billie Dove is charming ns Mar oia Malfair. She possesses the wholesome quality of personality required by the part, and dresses it with a richness of fabric and a smartness that pleases the feminine element of f ho audience. Gwen Lee can also be complimented on the clo’Ties she wears and the manner in which she wears them, as well as for her talented performance of the role of Liane Delorme, associate of Morphew and Mallison, arch, enemies of the man who persisted in cutting loose from the profession and going straight. Gustav von Seyfferfitz, as Morphew, Alplionz Etliier Deetective Crane, and Freeman Wood as Mallinson, give'performances of a quality that make their presence in the cast essential to the best interests of tlio production. A Topical, Scenic, Comedy and the hist chapiters of the serirnl “Tlie Silent Flyer.”
