LATE LOCALS.

The Bachelor’s Ball tendered by invitation at the Soldiers’ Hall last night was largely attended and passed off very en.ioyably. Alai 1 y visitors were present, and the committee was attentive to their guests. The music was supplied by Boss’ Orchestra, augmented for the occasion to seven instruments. The supper arrangements were attended to by the committee, guests having preference at the first sitting. Mrs Preston catered amply and attractively for the occasion. Novelty dances during the evening were a feature, the lantern dance being a special novelty. The dancing was continued with hut brief ini.eivals, and the whole function was most enjoyable.
