LONDON, Juno ‘27. At Wimbledon Miss Bickerton beat Mrs Mallory 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. In the second round of the men’s singles, Boussus beat Andrews 6-4, 6-1, 6-1. (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.l LONDON, June 27. Six Australian victories and a surprising New' Zealand anti-elimax constituted to-day’s antipodean record at Wimbledon. 'Jlio packed centre court ha fled Andrews as a new idol, but ' within a few minutes Boussus was the purveyor of delights. It hardly does Andrews justice to say that lie came back to his normal game after Monday's! strenuous achievement. Perhaps it is truer to say that the gruelling match with Hunter made him an easier victim for the agile left-handed Frenchman, whoso game is exactly similar to< Andrew’s with a shade greater certainty and craftiness. Andrews began Monday’s.tactic of coming in to the net only to find lie was facing a master volloyer and unerring smasher, whoso low sweeping lino drives were invariably winners. Andrews was forced into the long game :,7 a t which Boussus was also a master. With his speed nmd subtleness be lured X Andrews into a succession of nnsf takes, chiefly over driving. Nevertheless the New Zealander fought finely to the end. , Details of the second round men s singles ;• Moon beat Lycett 9i, 4—<->. -5 7 6—o; Austin beat W beatley 6-2. 6-8, 6-8, 6-2, 6-1; Crawford beat Pennycuick 6 —t, 2—6, 6 3 12 10.
