Tunncy states that Heency is a rugged puncher, younger and in better condition than Dempsey, and will he a more formidable opponent than the latter. “I do not believe Tleeney can punch as hard as Dempsey, hut in a fifteen rounds bout in which a shifting c rowd . might depend on the decision, lleeucy certainly is a more dangerous opponent than Dempsey might he.” Tunney ridiculed the idea of making him four to one favourite over Heeney. “ Any man who works himself to the position of foremost challenger cannot lie rated as a one to four opponent.”
