SERIOUS FIRE. BRISBANE, June 27. A fire at Nambour destroyed five shops. The damage is £12.000.
MOTOR CAR ESCAPE. (Received this day at 9.30 0.m.) SYDNEY, June 27. A motor-car containing four men and one woman, dived into Parramatta River at mid-night. The men extricated themselves from the enclosed hood and swain to safety. Two divested of their clothes, swam back, dived and dragged out Mrs Selle. of Eastwood, nearly drowned. She was resuscitated.
GREYHOUND COURSING. SYDNEY, June 27. The Greyhound Coursing Association intends to carry on despite the betting embargo, hut bookmakers will be prohibited. AIR FORCE REPORT. FREEMANTLE, June 27.
