PRESS COMMENTS.
The most progressive farmers now acknowledge the value of research. The recognition of the importance of tlie application of science to industry has, in fact, almost become general. The Prime Minister devoted a considerable portion of a speech which lie delivered at Morrmsville last week to an explanation of the services which the Government has undertaken in the field of research, without, liowevei, covering the whole of the ground. Important business enterprises have their laboratories attached to them m which chemists are engaged in the solution of the problems that are encountered in the processes of manufacture. It has demonstrably been found to be to their interest to do so. Great advances in industry have been rendered possible only as a result of research patiently directed to the removal of causes of concern and anxiety and loss.— “Otago Daily Times.”
