'Australian Press Assn.—United Service ij [• EXCITEMENT IN LONDON. li (Received this day at 12.25 p.m.) ; LONDON, June 21. £ Larkin has received a message (direct from the captain of the Jervis Bay that everything was going well and the stowaways under safe control. He, expected to arrive at Colombo on due date (Monday). The Jervis Bay drama is thrilling England. Every scrap of information is eagerly seized. The morning press unable to establish proof presented details sparingly following a night-long silence. The dramatic second message (cabled earlier) set Fleet Street ngong. The evening press rushed out an edition with each message from Colombo published in the blackest type since the war specials. The Australian Press office was inundated with inquiries while headquarters of the line and Australia House were answering anxious inquiries from those who had friends or relatives aboard. All day long everybody was talking of the extraordinary drama of the sea, which was believed nowadays to be confined to the pages of fiction. The fact that the Jervis Bay had not communicated with either headquarters officially caused bewilderment. Larkin, however, ventures one prediction, namely, that the ringleaders are not Australians.. He adds that if tliero is any loss of lifo the leaders certainly should bo hanged.
V U.S.A. STORAIS. NEW YORK, June 21. Windstorms and tornadoes in Atissouri, Oklahoma and other States have caused fifteen deaths. Two thousand are homeless. There is huge damage to crops and property. AN ESTATE; SETTLED. . LONDON, June 21. Tlie Brown case lias been settled. Under the terms the estate is divided in equal shares between the plaintiff and three nephews and a, niece in New Zealand, the will of May 12th. 1927 being admitted by probate. Tlie Judge congratulated the parties on the very nice conclusion, the division being most just.
