(United Press Association.—By Electric COMMONWEALTH STOCK SOLD. LONDON, June 20. Large parcels of Australian Commonwealth stock were sold lately and the proceeds are being sent to New York to purchase four and a half per cent Commonwealth stock recently issued there at ninqty-two, which owing to the break in Wall Street has been obtainable at nearly four per cent discount. - The members of the Stock Exchange in London are considerably perturbed and think it likely seriously to prejudice further issues here. DESPERATE STOWAWAYS. (United Servioe.) (Received this day at 1(1.75 a.m.t COLOMBO, June 20. The Jervis Bay which is approaching Colombo from Australia lias sent a wireless message to the warship En-terprise-appealing for help as a band of eight desperate stowaways are creating trouble. The Enterprise is unable to help, as a majority of lier crew nro at camp. fSlie sent a reply explaining the position and requesting the 'Jervis Bay to send a message if it was impossible to cope with the stowaways. The Jervis Bay is at present about seven hundred miles from Colombo and is expected to reach that port on Saturday. DAIRY SHOW. Palmerston n., June 21. Bright sunshine with a cold southerly, 'prevailed for the third day of the National Dairy Show, which is being attended by the Governor-Gen-eral and the Prime Minister. His Excellency, together with Lady Alice Fergusson arrived from Hawke’s Bay. Local guides formed a guard of honour at the station and later a luncheon was given the party at the Show grounds.
