FRENCH CYCLING RACE. Australian Press Assn.—United Service (Received this day at 9.30 a.m). PARIS, June 19. An Australian Press Association message from Cherbourg states the Tour do France field has' been reduced to 133. It is significant that with their advantage in packing, the Frenchmen Leducq, Frantz, Rebry, Vervaeckc, Dcwaelc, and Delannoy won the stage prizes, with time of 4 hours, 12 minutes, 29 seconds. Opporman was 4 hours, 24 minutes, 43 seconds. Wilson and Osborne 4 hours, 29 minutes, 44 seconds. The distance was ninety miles. The Australians are helping each other as much as possible to face mishaps and disadvantages and in this connection sporting sympathy is shown everywhere. Opporman, with a splendid sprint at the finish, recorded the third fastest time over the final lap. The present aggregates are—Frantz. McCrteus, Rebry, De Waele, Vervalcke 10 hours, 41 minutes 32 seconds; Oppcrnian is in the twenty-second position with 11 hours, 14 minutes, 57 seconds. The Australians are persistently losing time through unfamiliarity with signing and strange tyres.
