Australian Press Assn.—United Service ANTIMONY POISONING. MONTREAL, June 19. Antimony was accidentally introduced into luncheon soup in mistake for salt and resulted in twenty-one Dominion textile employees being seriously poisoned. Antidotes wero promptly applied at the hospitals and the men will recover. DISCUSSION IN LORDS. (Received this dov at 12.25 p.m.) LONDON, June 19. In the Lords. Lord Robert Cecil drew attention to the late progress in disarmament since the spring of last year of Britain’s nnformally negative attitude on the question and raised tho desirability of the League’s Preparatory Commission not meeting at the earliest before the September Assembly. Lord Cushcnden shared Ceoil’s disappointment at tho lack of progress at Geneva but it did not follow that anybody was at fault. The question was surrounded with great difficulties hut he did not despair. Ho repudiated a suggestion that Britan was obstructive. On the contrary, it led the van in disarmament arbitration and conciliation. Disarmaments were so deep rooted that it was impossible tcexpect a useful decision without great patience, and perscrverance. The motion was agreed with an alteration to meet if possible before September. NOVELIST KILLED. DUBLIN, June 19. The novelist, Donn Byrne, was found dead under a car which was overturned near his residence, _Cork. FRENCH PROPOSAL. PARIS, June 19. The Council 6f Ministers will reveal Trance’s stabilisation proposals on Saturday: Stabilisation will probably be accomplished on Sunday.
