Australian Press Assn.—United Service MARYLAND’S VOTE. NEW YORK, June 18. The Baltimore Democrats are jubilant over the Governor of Maryland (Mr Ritchie) having come to the decision to support Governor A 1 Smith, of New York, in the approaching DemocraticParty Convention. Governor Ritchie has issued a statement claiming that the overwhelming majority of the Democratic Party desire Governor Smith’s nomination for the Presidency. He adds: “1 therefore release the Maryland State Delegation from an instruction which the State Convention was generous enough to give, on my behalf, and when the Maryland Delegation meets I suggest that they cast Maryland’s vote at the Democratic Convention for Governor Smith.”
DETROIT SENSATION. NEW YORK, June 18. At Detroit, there was a bomb explosion which rocked the County building, injured ten persons and sent hundreds of people, including the Judges at the courts, anil the officials, rushing into the streets. The County building was two blocks from tile police headquarters. Four persons have been arrested.
