Fj,ax Fimve. A Phormium Research Committee lias been formed by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, il ax-mi Hens and flaxgrowers being represented on it, as well as the Research Department and the Department- of Agriculture. The committee will consider ways and means of pursuing organised research into all phases of the flax industry. This will involve the extension of chemical and botanical work which has already been promoted and facilitated by grants from the Research Department.
