THE ADVANTAGES OF THE MODERN GAS COOKER.
The Auckland Gas Coy held an essay competition on “The Advantages of the Modei'n Gas Cooker.” Some thousands of gas cookers are in use in and about Auckland and hundreds of essays were received. Some points about the modern gas cooker appear in our advertising columns in this issue, extracted from the winning essay. The lady who was successful is a regular user of a gas cooker and wrote from actual daily experience. There is high commendation for the use of the gas cooker, and the universal use to which the gas cooker is now being put makes it a necessity for every household to l>e equipped with such a useful appliance. It is a great domestic help and lightens labour so greatly. It is clean and economical, and a perfect cooker. Regular fortnightly demonstrations of gas-cooking are now given at the Soldiers’ Hall and any in. doubt or those in search of advice should attend and see what can he done. The July demonstrations are fixed for the 3rd, 17th and 31st July and all are likely to he well attended. Gas appliances for cooking and heating may he procured on time payment, a fact which brings the pleasure of gas cooking within the reach of all.
