The poor man was sentenced to three days’ imprisonment by the first court, find, as that meant dismissal, he appealed and was sentenced to a fine of £O. - Still faced by ruin, lie appealed to a third court and secured the attendance of no fewer than 14 psychological experts, who read learned reports on his psychology. Some held that he was responsible for his conduct when he stole the silver spoons, and others held that he. was not. their quarrelling was his salvation, for the fcourt. acquitted him on. the ground that the experts were unable to agree'as to the precise sort of psycho which he possessed....
