Australian Press Assn.—United Service U.S.A. FLOODS. NEW YORK, June 17. From Kansas City messages have been received stating that the Southwest of the- United Stutes is threatened by steadily-increasing floods, following on heavy rains and a tornado. Four persons are now known to he dead, and there have been scores of people injured. The towns of Blair and Headrick, in Oklahoma have vitunlly been demolished,. hut most cf the residents previously fled to the cellars, where they were saved. Crops and live stock have been wiped out. Relief workers are now rushing to the devastated areas to aid tlie liomeles, and to attempt to check the rising of the rivers. MEXICAN QUAKES. MEXICO CITY, .Tune 17. Both South and Central Mexico were shaken by earthquakes on Saturday night. The shocks continued on Sundnv.
In the State of Oaxaca, it is feared that a number of victims are buried in the ruins of their homes.
The damage to property is very widespread.
