Mr AV. Barrowman and family insert a notice of thanks in this issue.

-Messrs Lambert and Butler, the manufacturers of ’Varsity cigarettes have issued a set of three photographs of “Three Great New Zealanders ” —Maurice Brownlie (captain of tho All Blacks), Tom lleeney (who is to fight Tunncyi for the world’s championship) and the champion racehorse, Limeric'c. The three photographs are excellent ones and will he highly prized by admirers of these New Zealand topno tellers.

It is with regret that we record the death which took place this morning at her residence near .Malfroy’s bridge, Arahura Valley, of Mrs Bradley, wife of -Mr David Bradley, the well-known settler of that district. The deceased, who had been suffering for a considerable period, was a native of County Derry, Ireland, and came to New Zealand some forty-six years ago, and had reached the age of 73 years. She leaves a. bereaved husband and family of one daughter (Mrs T. Muir, of Araliura) and one son (Mr Robert J. Bradley, of Arahura). The funeral is taking place on Wednesday afternoon. Edward Venning, an engine driver in the employ of the Westport Coal Company, while mounting a boiler fell off the ladder on Friday morning and died a few minutes later. It is not known whether the fall was due to an accident or to heart failure. Deceased was a married man, 64 years of age. and leaves a widow and 8 or 9 children. He was a member of the School Committee and very popular. All work in the mines closed on news of his death being circulated.
