AIR FORCE CROSS. (Received this day at 10.1&'a.m.) SYDNEY, June 18. The Pacific fliers have been awarded I by the King, the Air Force Cross .The previous recipients are Hawker and Hinkler. COOK'S BODY RECOVERED. (Received this day at 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 18. Only one body was recovered from the White Hay wreck, and it has been identified as tbe cook. Five are still missing. DROWNED DURING GALE. SYDNEY, June 18. The steamer Iron .Master which was hove to three days arrived at Port Edward. Nolan, an engine greaser, was washed overboard and drowned during the gale. UNDERWRITERS MEET. SYDNEY, June 18. An underwriters meeting was held to-day to discuss what should be done with the Uralla. MURDER CHARGE. NEWCASTLE, June 18. The men arrested in connection with the Moxey case arc Charles Jackson (21) charged with murder and James Dent (21) charged with inciting Jackson to murder. Dent was formerly a partner of Moxey but it was dissolved owing to domestic differences. Tbe police obtained important statements and Jackson led them to a water hole where a gun was thrown. VOLUNTEER CREW PAID OFF. BRISBANE, June 18. Tho volunteer crew of the Mildura were paid otr and unionists are being engaged and wharf labourers are now prepared to unload her. A LIVELY MEETING. MELBOURNE, June 18.
A large meeting of labourites at the Gaiety Theatre was listening to strike aftermath speeches by the Trades
Union Council officials, W. Duggan and J. Crofts, when lively interjections were hurled, blaming the Trades Council namely “You sold us,” “traitors,” “squibs,” “frauds,” “scabs,” and similar pleasantries. Duggan declared the outcome of the strike had been an ignominous defeat but Crofts contended the cooks had lost little, if anything.
