ADDINCTON STOCK SALE.

Prices at Addington sale to-day in several cqses were rather lower than ■last sale, but good sorts maintained their values.
Fnt cattc—The yarding totalled 500 head. The quality was good, and' competition was keen at the commencement of the sale, but it slackened off at tlie latter pens. Prices were on a par with last wok’s basis, hut there was a noticeable easing, on the, rough and 'unfinished sorts. Heavy steers sold at £l7 I.os to £l9 15s, extra heavy to £23 7s 6d, prime £l4 10s to £l6 15s, medium £ll 10s to- £l3 ss, light £8 to £9 10s. Best heifers sold at £lO 10s to £ls 10s, medium £8 to £9 15s, light £5 15s to £7 ss. Cows sold, best £ll 15s to £l4 10s Id, prime £8 10s to £9 15s, medium and-light from £4 10s to £6 15sl
Calves—There, was a. medium yarding, the average being of better quality than at, late sales. Best runners : sold up to £8 3s Gd, medium runners £3 15s to £4 10s, good £4 15s to £5 10s, Good calves sold at 52s to £3 10s, medium 35s to 50s, small 15s to 275. Fat sheeps—There was a fair yarding with.keen competition, rates being well up'to late rates. There were some very prime fat sheep forward, hut the major portion of the entry was made up of ewes. The range of values was in_ accord with last week’s. Fat lambs—There was a much smaller yarding than last week. Good lambs were very scarce, the majority being light and scraggy. Prices had a firming tendency. Best lambs sold from 37s Gd to 42s Gd, prime 33s to 355, medium 30s to 32s 6d, light from 26s to 30s.
Store sheep—There was a very small entry of adult sheep, comprising only one and a-half alleys. Lambs were correspondingly short. There .was a good attendance and competition was keen. Half-bred ewe, lambs sold up to 40s, half-bred wether iambs from ISs to 225, crossbred wether lambs 18s to 24s Gd, crossbred ewe lambs 17s 6d to 28s 6d. The adult sheep mostly were ewes of uncertain age. Three-quarter-bred ewes sold up to 365, six and eighttooth three-quarter and cross-bred ewes to 42s Gd, four and five-year old ewes 35s Gd, lialfbred wethers to 34s 3d. Fat pigs—There was a large yarding of pork, which.had, its effect on the prices, which were slightly, easier all round. There was a large yarding of bacon, and the prices were well below last week’s rates. Values were: Choppiers £2 to £5 7s Cd, light porkers 28s to 325, "medium 34s to 425, heavy 44s to 50s. The average price of pork was GJd i>er lb. Light bacon sold at 52s to 555, medium £3 to £3 10s, heavy £3 15s to £5. The average price was Sjd per lb. . , „ , . , ... .'.
