SOUTHERNERS’ MASTERY. (United Service.) SHANGHAI, June 11. Reports from Peking indicate that the situation there is grave, and that it is pregnant with disastrous possibilities. It is stated that, as the result of further treachery by General Yeng Yuli Siang, Peking is occupied by Shansi troops, but it is surrounded by General Feng’s forces, who outnumber the Shansi-ites by two to one.

Arrangements have been effected by the foreign -.ministers at Peking, following on the announcement of Chang Tso Lin’s withdrawal, and these included an agreement between the Northerners and the Southern Allies to permit a sufficient number of the Northerners to remain in Peking to ensure peace following on the Northern evacuations and the city’s occupation by the Southern forces.
