DRUIDISM

The half-yearly installation of officer; of Westland Lodge No. 89, U.A.O.D took place in the Lodge Room on Jam all. Before proceeding with the in stallation the officers’ roll was callc< and attendance noted, outward corres pondence read and approved, in wan read and received. Bards reported sick members wer not doing too well, and expressed sym patliy and regret at the lengthy illncs o;f some, of the brothers. Sick pay t the amount of £2 14s Od and account to the amount of £3 16s were passe for payment; TheJjnlance sheet as rea was. a<loj)tcd. A ballot taken for five new memliei proved successful. The brothers and sisters of Seddo Lodge (Runanga) were'then admitted, and the names of four young ladies were then submitted for membership. This was all the routine business. INSTALLATION OB' OFFICERS.

The D.P. Bro. J. J. Williams proceeded to install the following, officers for the ensuing term:—A.lX, Bro. J. Turner; J.P.A., Bro. T. Broivn; V.A., Ero'T. Lock; Secretary, Bro. J. Fox P.TXP.; Treasurer, Bro. F. Ballinger P.A.; T.G., Bro. C. Pierson; 0.G., Bro. 11. Furness P.A.; A.D. Bds. Bro. Noble and Sister Badlands; V.A. Bds. Bros Selby and W. Stickles; M.S. Bro. F. Groufsky-P.A. At the conclusion of the installation ceremony a social was held and was attended hy Bros from the Hibernian Society, and a number of lady friends who greatly added to the enjoyment of the func*inn. A lengthy toast listwas honoured and musical items were render,! hy Misses Stopforth, Lynn, McGirr and Selby and songs',hy Bros Schroder and Wil iam.s of Westland Tndge, Bro Saunders (HA.C. 8.5.), Isherwood “Scddon Lodge” and Messrr ITcster and llidlands, local talent. The gathering, which was one of the largest and best ever hoi’, in Westland Lodge, was brought to a conclusion hy the singing of “God Save the King” and “Au'd Lang Syne.”
