Mr Bruce states the Government s cheque of £SOOO is to ho shared between Smith and Ulm. INVITATION, FROM DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, June 12. Full particulars will await you on arrival at Christchurch.’’ The Aero Club has now obtained a suitable site for aeroplanes at Green Island, comprising an area of 52 acres. - Tlie site is approved by Capt. Findlay of Wigrarn aerodrome. THE ITALIA. (Received this day at 8.50 a.m.) LONDON, June 11. An amplified report from King’s Bay states Nobile and seven companions are attempting to reach the steamer Braganza in a boat, over 124 miles. Through an ice barrier in their way the crew are split into three groups and are out of touch with Nobile. The wireless operator urgently appeals for •food and medical supplies for tho injured. An Oslo newspaper declares there is a very big risk of them being carried out to sea and urges the necessity of speedy help. Itiiscr Larsen and Holm will do their utmost to attempt to drop food from the air. In the meantime a fresh Swedish relief expedition is under way. The Soviet ice-breaker Milligan.also is operating from Archangel to establish an aeroplane bnso from which to take off and drop food. Help for any of the party is impossible lor several days.
