SHIPPING TROUBLE
(Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, June 11. Masters and engineers rendered idle by the cooks’ strike have decided that they will sail with free labour, as they resent the cooks’ action in holding up the whole Commonwealth services. Owners will call to-morrow morning for free cooks for the Mildura in Sydney and the I.oongnna in Melbourne. The Federal Government proclamation under the Crimes Act has been signed and is ready for issuance -if needed. The proclamation empowers the authorities to take action against any attempt to prevent the carrying on of essential services.
