Telegrams from Peking report that order is being maintained, and tho city is being patrolled bd local gendarmes under General Pao Yu Lin, who was deputed to perform this task by the outgoing Government. A committee of the older statesmen in tho city have telegraphed to the three Southern leaders, Chang, Yen. and Feng, requesting that, until arrangements are made to hand over the city. General Pao Yu Lin should bo allowed to continue these duties undisturbed, and then withdraw his men. The doyen of the Corps Diplomatique has sent a request on similar lines to tlie three Southern lenders. Passengers and goods trains to Peking and Tientsin have been interrupted through troop movements. Yen Hsi-shaw, Governor of Shansi, has entered Peking. The Shansi army is encamped von the outskirts of Peking,- awaiting its complete evacuation by Chang Tso-liiP’s troops. Nationalist flags are flying in the capital. WAGE DISPUTE SETTLED. ENGLISH SHIPBUILDERS. RUGBY, June 6. The wages dispute in the shipbuilding trade has been settled. The associated employers have consented to an increase in the bonus to the workers, which the unions accepted. Tlie unions agreed to nominate a committee-to devise, vitli the employers’ representatives, regulation of wage rates in accordance with the fluctuation in their industry.
