Secretary Robertson’s report at the Wheat Conference stressed the declining interest in the compulsory feature of jiools and called attention to the recent Australian vote against compulsion. Tile Wheat Conference delegates were the guests of the Canadian Club at Regina. Sir Thomas Allan (British Empire ATarketing Board) stressed the growing need of each section of the Empire for the other Empire business. It must be of a reciprocal character, visualising Empire needs first. The Conference should discuss tbe national programme of world production of all farm products and the standardisation and uniformity of quality. The economic figure of Empire was bound up in tbe willingness and ability of the people in each part to organise greater production and higher quality standaids 'on a national basis for efficiency in prepared and nislied commodities.

According to reliable information obtained from White House circles today, it is said the letter was mailed to Butler at Kansas City on Monday; but whether it will be made public at the Convention before the first ballot, or only in tbe event of a swing to President Coolidge is unknown. His communication is said to have been couched in such forceful terms, that even the most extreme “draft Coolidge” spokesman could not misunderstand nor disregard it.
