AN ATLANTIC FLIGHT. NEW YORK, June 3.
Mr George Putinas, the publisher, has announced that a tri-motored Fokker plane, in which Wilmer JStulz flew from Britain to Halifax on Sunday, is bound for London, via Trepassey, Newfoundland. It iis equipped with pontoons for landing in the water, and it carries a radio. This plane has on board Miss Amelia Earhart, of Boston, an amateur aviatrix. who will take a turn at c-onrols. The craft has been named “Friendship.”
CELEBRATION AT WASHINGTOON WASHINGTON, June 2.
The new home of the British Embassy will be decidated by Sir Esme Howard to-morrow.
The King’s Birthday exercises consist- of the laying of the corner stone of the British Embassy. The. Canadian and Irish Free States Legation staffs, and officials of the United States and other Governmens will attend.
