III'ATARI'-} LA MIX AP V A ROAD. Three applications were received from co-operative parties for clearing and forming three sections of the above road.
The sections were balloted fur with the following result: Phillips and Party, Section I, £lO9 15s; Hal! and Party, Section 11, £ls] ]s.s; Brown and Party, Section 111, £lsl 15s.
Overseer Milkier will bo on the ground on Tuesday forenoon to start the men. The work will absorb twelve ■of the local unemployed. MISCELLANEOUS. Tlie Chairman authorised the following small road works:—Ruatapu Road, urgent repairs; South Hokitika drain, n subsidy of £2 os for clearing and deepening; Station Rond, £5 extra for metalling; Petersen Road, clearing of water tables and repairs, south end; Kakapotahi protection, inspection on Monday next, with view to starting
work immediately, a grant of £ for £ for damage being available.
