News from Pittsburgh slates: Fourteen balloons left here to-day in a national elimination balloon race, over South AVestern Pennsylvania. They ran info severe electrical storms, during which' six balloons were forced down, or were struck by lightning. One man was killed, and one was injured severely. Others are reported to lie injured, shocked or frozen. One balloon landed near a town on some high tension wires and thus put tlie town in darkness.
