THE HOXOUR SYSTEM” —EMI HAY.

On Friday ;it the Princess Theatre a Master Picture will be presented starring Milton Sills, Miriam Cooper, Gladys Brock well, and George Walsli. Joe Stanton leaves home for the lirst time to take charge of a gold mine on the -Mexican border. Helping him is Jack Taylor, who has successfully resisted the wiles of Trixie, a saloon girl, who with the aid of her partner. Three-Fingered Louis, hopes to rob the office. Jack is shot during a Mexican laid and Trixie turns for sympathy to Stanton, pretending she was giving up her old life. However, Stanton sees her one night going to the saloon with Louis. He follows them and a light ensues wherein Louis produces a knife. Stanton hits him on the head and lays him out. The lights go out and Louis is stabbed by an enemy. The knife disappears and Stanton is sentenced to a term of life imprisonment. During his trial he is cared for by Sheriff Wells and his daughter Edith. After two years in gaol under r. brutal Warden, suffering all manner of hardships, the prisoners revolt and a number escape, Stanton among them. He meets'the Sheriff who gives him a further opportunity to make a getaway. Returning and giving himself up, be is flogged and thrown into an under, ground dungeon. Prompted by .Toe’s letter, the Governor investigates prison conditions in bis State and has Stanton brought from the dungeon where he has almost lost his sight. When the Governor brings Stanton in and shows bis blindness and the weals on his back Harrington is hissed out of the building and the kind Sheriff is put in charge of the new prison where the men are treated as human beings.

Further chapters of the serial and a good comedy also will he shown.
