(')ver 109 young people gathered in St. Andrew’s Hall last evening for the purpose of meeting and listening to Mr Maurice Modder, M.A., a Palmerston North young man who is a graduate of the Harvard University, Boston, TJ.S.A. After a brief introduction Mr Hodder explained that his visit to Hokitika was to interest the young folk in a movement originated by the students of America and spreading all over tho world (a branch having already. been formed in New Zealand) the object of which was to study the problem of Alcoholism in all its various aspects, arid to educate leaders to organise tho youth of the world against alcoholism.
