A NEW ALLIANCE. CONSTANTINOPLE. May 28. The London “Daily Telegraph’s” correspondent here has obtained details of a treaty that has been entered into between Turkey and Afghanistan as the result of King Amantdlah’.s visit. The treaty pledges the parties to inviolate peace and eternal friendship. Tn the event of one of the parties being the object of an aggressive movement by any Power or Powers, the other party to the treaty undertakes to employ all its efforts to prevent such aggression.
If. despite these efforts, the movement takes an active form aiul an armed attack .becomes a fait accompli, the Turkish and Afghan Governments are pledged to confer together and to seek a decision which conforms to their common superior interests. The Turkish Government undertakes to put all its military experts at Afghanistan’s disposition. Another article ordains that both shall enjoy the most favoured nation treatment.
