PAINFUL GUN MISHAP. INVERCARGILL, May 25

Hugh Parker, aged 20, employed at Ocean Beach Freezing Works, met with a distressing accident to-day. He was handling a shotgun and-put his hand over the muzzle, when it accidentally discharged and so badly mutilated his hand that lie haul to be removed to the hospital and to have his lingers amputated. He is progressing favourably.

As the result of a collision with a motor cyclist this evening, Wm. George Mills, aged 15, who was riding a bicycle, was admitted to the hospital suffering from a fractured jaw and a cut on the leg.
