NOXIOUS WEEDS.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—l have read with interest the report of the last County meeting, and while the Council is entitled to every credit for the financial arrangements made, I think it would be advisable for the members to consider the question of the liability of various laud owners to clear the gorse and noxious Weeds opposite to tho sections held hy^them.

Instead of reclining in comfortable seats at the County table it might do some of the members good to sit for a while on the blackberries opposite some defaulting section-holders in the Arahura Valley.

It is a ..pleasure to see the Road Reserve opposite Alessrs Ditely, AlcGulgnn, Rae, Bradley, Havill, Bond and Ward, as these farmers obey the spirit of the law in clearing opposite their holdings.

Now, sir, some of these men are not so blessed with this world’s goods as others in default and I urge the Council not to make fish of one and flesh of another, but to insist upon propertyholders complying with the law and doing their duty to their neighbours. A "visit to the Arahura. Valley Road would be of interest, especially during the winter months.

While in the Araliura Valley the County authorities might also take note of some of the- pot-holes by the way. I am, etc., VISITOR.
