THE ALL BLACKS. With the arrival of tlie All Blacks in South' Africa, the eyes of all New Zealand sports will be turned in that

direction. The opening match of the tour is set down for Wednesday next, May 30th. Private advices received in Wellington disclose that the touch of ptomaine poisoning which some of the members had in Tasmania during the voyage was pretty severe. I. H. Harvey, the burly Wairarapa lock, lost 251 b in weight, and N. P. McGregor. the Canterbury five-eighths, lost a stone before the team left Australia. Harvey appears to he an unlucky individual, as it will be remembered that he contracted tonsolitis in England during the 1924 tour, and this prevented him from taking part in more than seven games on the whole tour. Jt is to be hoped that he will land in South Africa fit and well, as he is without question one of the veiy best forwards the Dominion possesses at the present time. From Wednesday next, results of the Xew Zealand team's doings in South Africa, will he coming through, and wo will he just as anxious to hear the news as we were when the New Zealanders were putting up that re-cord-breaking performance in 1921. As in that year, the Government, is making special arrangements to announce the results promptly.
