By Telegraph—Press Assn., Copyright. RUG BA' LEAGUE. AUCKLAND. May 25. Following a letter from Canterbury Rugby League, J. Carlaw made an appeal at last night’s meeting of the New Zealand Rugby League for a test match against the English team at Christchurch. He said Canterbury’s claim should bo given every consideration, as lie was certain the code there would benefit from such a game.
The Chairman (Air C. A. Snedden) said no official itinerary of the tour had yet been arranged. The question of ground charges at Alonicn Park was a bone of contention lie said.
Air Stirling said be would support a test being played if the present charges, which were excessive were reduced..
Other delegates supported Canterbury’s claim and it was decided to defer consideration of the matter until Otago League bad completed the match arrangements in the South Island.
