This makes a total of 16,022,000 dollars worth of gold sent to England since the start of the movement in December, 1927.

General Dawes, Air Lowden, and the other prospective Republican candidates have supported this hill, and the President’s caustic veto makes the political position of all those who have desired the Bill’s passage extremely difficult.
Apparently the President has used this means to check tho movement to commit the Republican party, by candidate and platform, to the bill.

The Court of General Sessions, which is the oldest and largest criminal court in North America, has decided to adopt the services of psychologists and psychiatrists to aid in dealing with criminals. Nine judges, comprising the court asked for 8.900 dollars under the law recently passed by the legislature and effective in July for the purpose of maintaining a clinic where criminals will he studied before being sentenced. The proposed clinic is in line with the recommendation of Governor Smith.

CONGRESS REBUKES PRESIDENT WASHINGTON, Alay 24.
President C’oolidge received tho most decisive congressional rebuke of his whole administration to-day when the Senate in a little more than an hour overwhelmingly overrode his veto on lour bills. It first passed two vetoed postal hills, making them law. Then it passed an Indian lands bill and an emergency officers retirement hill. The last two measures must still bo acted upon by the House. Ibis is the first time Congress lias failed to heed Air Coolidge’s veto, with the exception of the Soldiers’ Bonus Bill. Only a few of the Republican regulars supported the President in the voting.
