Minister, aged 49 years, of Taranaki Street, Wellington, which was adjourned last week; namely a charge of indecent assault on another male, was called to-day before Air E. Page. X.M.. Air A. Gray, K.C., who appeared on the accused’s loliall, said that he regretted that he had received information during the last few minutes that the accused had mot with a serious accident. Hr Brown had been called in at 10.30 o’clock, when it was found that the accused had fallen and broken his thigh. He had been sent to the Hspita.l, where lie was likely to remain for three months. Counsel asked for a. formal remand until the position was definite. Mr Mncassey, for the Crown, suggested that the patient’s condition should he ascertained after a. fortnight. Air Page agreed. A. remand was granted for a fortnight. A furthei application, if necessary was then to he made. WELLINGTON. May' 23.

When the ease against the Rev. Thomas Ridden Taylor came on to-day, no further order for the suppression of his name was asked for. There was a doubt as to the position. and as to whether the name must remain suppressed until the Stipendiary Magistrate withdrew his order, hut it is now understood that, as no further application was made, the order lapses.
