MOTOR OARAGE BURNT. WHAKATANE, May 22. The most spectacular fire that has occurred in Whakatane for years completely destroyed the R.M. Garage last even in". The building, which was a large wooden one. contained six cars all of which were destroyed, together with stocks of tyres, oils and ton s. The brigade made a good save of the adjoining buildings. The cars, owned by R.M. Coy, Inspector of Machinery, Sargoods and Son, Ewen, E. "W. Beckett were'insured, but those owned by Riuldy and Sloane and Peargram were uninsured. Details of the insurance on the building are not available.
