CHINESE TROUBLE
Australian Press Assn.—United Service ADVICE FROM U.S.A. WASHINGTON. Alay 21. The American Minister, Air MacAlurray, has handed similar Notes to the Chinese Nationalists and Northern Governments, stressing the serious concern with which the United States views the killing of two American missionaries in recent fighting at Shantung, and emphasising its desire that both sides should take every possible measure to prevent the killing of Americans In- unseasoned soldiers. The Note, to the Nationalist Government at- Nanking urges the Nationalists only .to send their liest troops against Peking, fearing otherwise that there will be looting and killing of foreigners.
The State Department, however, makes it quite plain that the United States has no, desire to interfere in the Chinese War.
