ROYAL AUSTRALIAN SUNBEAMS.
To-morrow (AVerlncsday) afternoon ;it 8.1.) o’clock and at night at 8 o’clock . at the Princess Theatre, the Royal Australian Sunbeam's will make their lir.st appearance here. The company has been touring the Dominion with complete success. The following is from a Dunedin paper of recent date: ” Every necessary adjunct to a modern revue is supplied. First there was flurry [.ssher, the ' leading mail,’ wli possesses a hcautilul boyish soprano voile. The ‘leading lady:’ was Baby Doreen, a tiny child, who appeared to he perfectly at home on the stage, ami sang, danced and acted with remarkable ability. Next came the comedian, 'Aee Jackie Clarice, who was greeted with obvious delight. He is a born purveyor of fun. and his natural cleverness as a singer of funny songs was exploited to rhe utmost. Then there "as the soubrette—a very necessary lady in any revue. She, was Valda ChaLe, an amazingly vivacious and selfassured little person, who sang up-to-date syncopated songs, danced with all the allure and grace of nf ully-dcveloped and sophisticated musical comedy ‘ star,’ and Jed the ballets in the most approved manner. Lastly, there were the dancers and acrobats. Every revue must have good dancers, and the Sun beams supplied them liberally, hut the aerobatic ballet was an added delight and, incidentally, proved an outstanding feature of the production. None of the juveniles in its ranks could have been more than IC> years of age, while the youngest—a tiny, golden-haired bouncing sunbeam—was liLtlc more than a chuckling, lovable infant. The comparative ability of each was in reverse ratio to her age. and, in the fastest of her movements the youngest seemed a whirling, spinning ball of India rubber. From double somersaults and Catherine wheels of breathtaking speed, the troupe turned to feats of strength and balancing, throughout which the eyes of the audience remained fixed on the golden head of the baby girl that bobbed and saluted fully ten feet from the floor.” The box plans are at Misses Mein- 1 tosh’s..
