Live of the nine men rescued alive alter the mine explosion are now in hospital, and they are not expected to live. Experts believe that none ol the miners entrapped in the mine will bo found alive. All possible aitl in the rescue work has been extended by the Red Cross and othc-r organisations and by tile miners. The explosion took place as the day and night men were shifting places, and it 'caught part of each group below. ’The workers believe that many of the bodies are now hidden in the debris. LATER. A message from the mine states that thirteen have now been rescued alive. Thirty bodies have been removed and a like number have been located. Gas and damp are hampering the rescue crews, who fear that there are two hundred dead. NEW YORK, May 20. At the scene of the mine explosion, thirty-four bodies of miners have been recovered. There is little hope for the balance of the miners, numbering over 120. DEATH ROLL. (Received this day at 9.30 a.in). NEW YORK, May 21.
