A fire took place yesterday afternoon about 3.30 o’clock in Upper Gibson Quay, in a cowshed on the river band just east of Livingstone Street, owned by Air AY. Weiblitz. The cowshed together with about three tons of hay was completely destroyed. It is not known how the fire broke out, but it is thought that some hoys who were playing in the vicinity might have caused it. There is no water available from the town supply in that locality and no attempt could be made to save the structure. A stack of timber in close vicinity was not damaged.

The usual procedure for the commencement of "all Debating Clubs was carried out. a “question box” being introduced wherein each member dropped a. question to lie answered by some member present. The questions asked were numerous, sonic being humorous and others being in a more serious vein.
